As the oceans number one predator, sharks help maintain the balance of nature by reducing animal population. Considering the fact that tens of thousands of people come in close contact with sharks each year while boating, surfing, or swimming, the number of attacks are not tremendous. Hopefully we will learn as much as we possibly can about sharks, and realize that they are not as much of a threat as we perceive them to be.
