We spent all of our summers in a lazy, humid town in Wisconsin. It was considered large for Wisconsin, but was decidedly rural with respects to urban standards. and dirt was caked over every inch of my body. We all ran into the sewer and huddled together in the middle like cold monkeys. With the shielding that it provided, we felt safe from the malicious farmer, especially since we were nestled underneath the street. It was there that we stayed for at least an hour listening intently for the growling of the combine to fill our ears with the deafening sounds of pursuit.
