After World war two some European countries (Italy, Germany, France and the Benelux) in order to avoid new conflict started a process of economical integration that led nowadays to the E.U. . the aim of the E.U. it is not a solidarity one, so it is questionable to ask why the European integration has to be achieved through this way, with all the problems of democracy connected ? It is not simple to give an answer to this question but according to reasons mentioned above it is a process that has nothing to do with National Parliaments or cultural integration since does not interfere with Economic problems.
