Egyptians who have always greatly depended on the Nile as a vital resource. Although it does have some disadvantages, the Aswan Dam has been greatly beneficial to the Egyptian economy. It has also provided employment not only in the various new industries around Lake Nasser, but also in recreation and tourism. Although it was quite expensive to build, I believe it has had a very positive impact, and has proved worthy of such an investment.
