Scout, and Tom Robinson all represent different types of heroism within To Kill a Mockingbird. The nature of a hero does not have to be that of putting ones own life at risk for someone else's, but can be as simple as being admired for their qualities or good deeds. Although a hero is usually portrayed in all novels, they can also exist in real life without being noticed and given the credit they deserve.
