…abhorrence toward Jennie as well. So, "Jane" may have been Gilman's error when she said, "...In spite of you and Jane," in which she really meant to say Jennie. I like the way the ending statements of the story are a bit dubious and mystifying. Whether "Jane" is the narrator, the lady in the wallpaper, or Jennie, I think the conclusion was very successful and effective. However, the question will still remain: who is Jane?
