The Sankat Mochan Foundation is a non profit organisation dedicated to cleaning the Ganges River. Plans have also been made to install deep tube wells in the local villages. Initial research indicates that deep strata of ground water is still clean, and will remain so for at least ten years. Installation of the wells will form part of the development of a whole village environmental plan.
