The story of Frankenstein was first written by Mary Shelley as a challenge from her friend Lord Byron while in Geneva on holiday with her husband Percy Shelley. The book is not as terrifying as it was because when it was written there was a large fear of the unknown about cloning and the recreation of life, but now there is a certain knowledge of the effects of cloning. This is due to successful scientific projects such as 'Dolly' the Sheep. Overall I believe that Frankenstein will still be relevant for many years but slowly will lose it's terror factor
