…take over someone you have captured him or her but you have not destroyed their spirit. I noticed that every one of Steinbeck's books involves a guy who is troubled and the ending is always sad. Despite this point I would highly recommend this book and any of Steinbeck's novels. They all have one literal meaning and they also have one spiritual meaning. All the books I have read by Steinbeck were all pretty good.
