These people cling to past and present wrongs, real or imagined, with a baffling fervor, sometimes seeming to hunt for a hurtful thing in an innocuous situation, because it's the most expedient way they know to get the attention and care humans need. They make themselves miserable. I would advise anyone who decides to take control of their life to avoid interacting with this type of person as much as possible.
