comparison with Hector, Achilles resembles something of a mama's boy; in fact, we see him crying to his mother Thetis that the gods have not done enough for him by punishing the Greeks. Hector is definitely the better warrior than Achilles, and has more of a sense of country pride. Both Hector and Achilles complain too much, but Hector is the more heroic, as he is selflessely noble and gives his life for his country.
