Japanese were making better strides in the automobile industry than Americans. His idea was based on his ideas of hyperrationality. He showed how the Japanese use each of the models in every aspect that they work. Hyperrationality was what gave us a clear sense as to why the Japanese industries maintained success. Ritzer basically gave us the beginnings of his idea and said how he wished later sociologist would expand his theories and/or ideas.
