…reason for joining a sorority was to make new friends and to get involved in campus life, I see how the stereotypes about Greek drinking habits could have influenced me to join a sorority instead of the chess club. It is possible also that I could have just wanted my own habits validated by others, just perpetuating stereotype and the tendency for the Greek community to drink more and more often than non Greek students.
