John Galsworthy was born in 1867 in Kingston Hill, Surrey, into an upper-middle-class family. John Galsworthy was educated at Harrow and studied law at New College Oxford. Though he was trained as a lawyer, he never practiced law. He began writing at the age of twenty-eight, inspired by his future wife. It isn't too long, so it doesn't bore you to death in the first ten minutes.
