I watched one hour of television, but not continually. I watched thirty-minutes of Days of Our Lives, which is a well known day-time soap opera. Then I watched thirty-minutes of Wheel of Fortune, a well known game show. The advertisements between scenes and shows change because there audiences have changed. As the audience changes, the commercials change to attract the person watching the show.
