In the American culture a common way of retaliation is violence. A common form of violence is fighting. Sometimes fights escalate into bigger things and weapons are used. In Columbine almost every resident owned a gun and they were comfortable with that however that still does not make it right for teenagers to have access to guns, or in the case of Chronicle of a Death Foretold, kill the person their sister slept with.
