In addition, Great Britain was left greatly in debt after the French and Indian War and had the right to enforce policies on the colonies; these policies also helped the colonists. As one can see, the colonists should have become Loyalists and support British rule - the British supported the colonies like a mother supported its baby, and those that are not taken care often make the wrong decision.
