The novels had never made the female characters strong, and 'scandal in Bohemia' does. I also thought it was nicer than many others as Holms' plan did not work out well, like he wanted to, and Holmes always is the smart one, the 'hero' of the story, therefore it was nice to see a change in his successfulness. This might make others not enjoy the story as it destroys the perfect image of Sherlock Holmes.
