The Passions of Andrew Jackson, written by Andrew Burstein, is the story of the life of President and General Andrew Jackson. Burstein tries to portray Jackson's life without prejudice. In the book's preface, Burstein says that Jackson's other biographers, namely Robert Remini tend to try to make a hero out of Jackson and to not look at all aspects of his career.

this review is also very fair of the book. <Tab/>Andrew Jackson was a complex figure. He made many friends and many enemies. I think that the author has written one of the first unbiased biographies of Andrew Jackson. This book sheds new light on the life of this greatly understudied man. This is a book that one who is interested in Andrew Jackson and his time period should definitely read.
