Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a French Impressionist painter, as well as a sculptor. In 1841, Limoges, France was his birthplace. He was the sixth child in his family. When he was around three years old, his family moved to Paris where his father earned a living as a tailor.
At the age of thirteen, he became an apprentice, learning how to paint porcelain. He learned from the Lévy frères,

His originals are spread all around the world. Many are at the Museé d'Orsay and other museums in Paris. There are also some at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, the National Gallery of Art, in Washington DC, the National Gallery in London, and in many other countries. Overall I enjoy most of Renoir's work, but I like his landscapes and outdoor scenes a lot better than his portraits, because they seem too bland.
