…as the force had to accept its downfalls and agree to a complete reform. Although the report displayed many weaknesses within the service, the lessons learnt proved to be extremely valuable. Lessons learned from the Macpherson report into the murder of Stephen Lawrence and the recommendations made will eventually improve liaisons and relationships between the police and ethnic minorities. Ultimately the most difficult challenge ahead will be improving the accountability and credibility of the police.
