…though Nick and Gatsby both come from the Mid West, each character progresses into two very different people. Nick, a dreamer like Gatsby, can provoke ideas and dreams but can come back from his fantasies and face reality. Unlike Gatsby, whom enters a dream and forwards into his dream until he does not know the difference between reality and dream. This off-putting habit of Gatsby results in his death and the collapse of his dream.
