I do believe that anyone who is aware of being under an oppressive state and is willing to fight for their freedom will carry out the steps that Winston and Stalin performed. But if someone is in the same situation as Winston was in, it is better off to not oppose the political regime that they are under, because it will only result in more unhappiness.
