…Pola Nierenska, a dancer and choreographer who had been born in Poland. All her relatives had been killed in the Holocaust,but she survived the war in London. Sadly in 1992,Pola,then 81 years old, jumeped to her death from the balcony of their apartment in Bethesda,Md. Jan Karski died 1/31/02 of heart and kidney failure at Georgetown University Hospital. He was an important figure in trying to stop the Holocaust and I admire his bravery.
