Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642, at Woolsthorpe, near Grantham in Lincolnshire. Newton was left in the care of his grandmother when his widowed mother remarried. Newton received his bachelor's degree in 1665 from Trinity College, at the University of Cambridge. Newton took a break for almost two years.
