Harrison was born into a working class family in Leeds, his Mother was a housewife and his Father a miner and later a bricklayer. The poem gives us an insight into how Harrison feels and the poems are written in a simple way giving an idea of what is happening. The language is effective and powerful while at the same way simple and understandable.
