I mumbled. "It's all in a days work my new friend." When I looked up, I noticed small tears manifesting in his eyes. As I walked away, the policeman kneeled down and wept beside his fallen comrade. Sadness overcame me. From that day on, Intrepid was my protector. A great sense of security surrounded me. No one would ever harm me, and Intrepid would never leave me. He was my friend, companion, and my hero.
