The impulse then spreads down the bundle of His and branches off in purkinje fibres. Then this impulse will cause ventricular systole where the ventricles contract. This shows how my pulse was created and when the cardiac pacemaker changes the pace of the heart it changes the beats per minute and that is why the heart rate increases.
