Being an outstanding long pole takes extraordinary physical fitness, the willingness to play the game, irregardless of the consequences, and above all, the sanction to strive for greatness through commitment. I have learned these qualities from a personal perspective. After twelve years of playing the position of long pole, in 2001, I was awarded the title MVP for under 16 boys lacrosse in Canada, and was given a spot on the Canadian all-star team.
