Enlightenment affected Western society in great amounts of ways. From all the agriculture, commercialism, and manufacturing changes, it produced fast growing population. With better food supplies, people lived longer. New jobs helped landless people support themselves and their families. In result of that, there was earlier marriage. The rising population promoted more competition. The Enlightenment also invited the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, which provided people with jobs and new cities in which to live.
