A Midsummer's nights dream was written by William Shakespeare between 1589 and 1595. It is one of Shakespeare's better known plays, and has been performed in many theatres over the years in many different styles. I would probably play on her patheticness, and emphasise her funny moments to get the audience laughing. Helena would also have to be quite tall, and slim, which although in today's world is considered perfection, back then the fuller the figure, the better. So there is obvious contrasts between her and Hermia immediately.
