Following Trotsky's Death Rivera and Kahlo both became Anti-Revisionists/Anti-Stalinists. A few years after the 1954 death of his wife Frida Kahlo, he contracted a rare form of cancer and died on November 24, 1957. Diego Rivera is interred in the Panteón de Dolores in Mexico City.
