Many people of my generations cannot say that they experienced life in two countries in their childhood. I am lucky to say that I was born in Europe, even though it was Eastern, and moved to "The Land of Freedom." I would most likely be considered first generation American. and even after we learned it, the significant accent tends to give other people think that we were unknowledgeable in the ways of America. Sometimes this lead to people wanting to take advantage of use. However, our Russian/Ukrainian manners didn't let this happen. Overall, coming to America has been a great experience. It has become out hearts and bodies. Even when we went back to Ukraine, we considered ourselves American in addition to Ukrainian.
