Cinco de Mayo
Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday celebrated on the fifth of May, yet it is celebrated regionally. It commemorates the victory of the Mexicans by defeating the French Army in 1862, at the Battle of Puebla. The Battle of Puebla happened at a time when Mexico was having many problems and were in crisis. Mexico had just received their independence and were involved in the Mexican-American War and the Mexican Civil War.
