Cities have begun to respond with massive building projects for housing, public areas, and attempts at reclaiming the green areas that have been so devastated. The government has also responded, by very purposefully and carefully beginning to develop inland areas away from the megalopolises in the coastal areas. By building new transportation systems, encouraging industry relocation, and raising brand-new cities fro nothing, the Chinese are attempting to integrate their tremendous economic growth throughout their country.
