In short the effects of UV-B has been detected all over the world in all kinds of environments, even 60 feet under clear water which hurts many types of fish, mollusks, and most importantly phytoplankton. Destruction of these phytoplanktons would give serious problems to fishes which depend on these small creatures for food, and eventually effect humans. Global warming can also be caused by the reduction of phytoplanktons, because absorption of CO2 would be significantly reduced.
