Bulimia, also called bulimia nervosa, is a psychological eating disorder. Bulimia is characterized by episodes of binge-eating followed by inappropriate methods of weight control (purging). Inappropriate methods of weight control inculde vomiting, fasting, enemas, excessive use of laxitives and diuretics, or compulsive exercisize.
