…Christ had one last battle with evil, and although they both ultimately died in their final battle, they both were able to conquer the evil before they died. Combining Pagan and Christian ideas was very effective for the author of Beowulf. He was able to emphasize the morals of the time and enhance his characters with his Christian values and pagan legends. Despite elements from both cultures, I believe the work had a Christian foundation.
