this case x represents the amount of drinks (D) one has consumed while the y variable is the BAC (A). The BAC is a dependent variable. The more drinks you consume, the higher your BAC will be. If you are heavier person, your body will be at a lower BAC where as someone of a different weight with the same amount of drinks will have a higher BAC. BAC is also depend upon your weight.
