The world of the Indian was simple and they were more than happy for everything in it to stay the same. The Indians of North America had to acclimate themselves to the new world that was overtaking theirs or perish. Without these reformers attempts to help the Indian's transition, the Indian nations would have been exterminated. I compare the reformers to today's green peace and other similar environmental societies. Their hearts may have been in the right place but sometimes they just did not think their actions through completely and ended up doing things inappropriately.
