…only delayed an unavoidable war. It gave UK the high "moral ground" where they could say that they had tried everything to prevent a war but that was useless. By that time, no one trusted the United Kingdom anymore. They're involvement with Corfu, Abyssinia and other League of Nation's affairs were disgraceful. Appeasement certainly caused more devastation than it caused problems which is why I believe it had the hugest impact on World War II.
