Animals are legally considered subordinate to humans. They are physically and mentally inferior but they are still living creatures. They require food, sleep, reproduce and feel pain therefore they should have some form of legal defense. I'm not a vegetarian and animals live off each other so I am not against slaughtering cows, chickens and other nutritional livestock for the nourishment of our country. I do not believe animals should be used only for their fashionable furs. If we kill the animal just for our clothing this is somewhat of a waste.
