Sylvia Plath was an intelligent young woman of the 1950's and 60's. She attended Smith College on a Academic Scholarship, and wrote award winning works that were submitted to magazines such as Mademoiselle. She projected herself to society as a perfectly content, strong individual who enjoyed living life. The exact opposite of who she really was inside.

Death was her only out. On February 11th, 1963 Sylvia freed herself from her world of constant worry and suffering. She left behind a huge legacy as an extremely talented female writer. Many today are still influenced and inspired by Sylvia Plath. She was woman who rebelled against the male dominated society and knew what true freedom was, independence from society. Sadly she could no longer stay in the fight, finding her freedom only through death.
