Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way …

He tells the reader how not to let the reader let the real world bring you down, and not to be self-conceited with yourself our thoughts. The poem can apply not only to men but also to women and the entire world. His thoughts and morals can always be found in any of the poems he writes.
