…think this because in the car on the way to the beach they are all talking about a dead pop-star and Chrissie asks him a question, Euan replies - "I couldn't give a toss". Later on Euan shows he has a sensitive side when Chrissie is found drown in a loch but Euan is determined to go to the funeral. Therefore strong universal themes are used effectively by Irvine Welsh in these two short stories.
