Since Japan opened the island nation to the West, the camera has witnessed that country's technological and emotional transformation. These photos seem to express the struggle of a race of people that have overcome anything that has been placed in their way. I enjoyed the history more than the art of the different photographs. The Museum has done an outstanding job showing these works of photography.
