Beloved: Movie vs. Novel
In reading Toni Morrison's novel, Beloved, one can help but be emotionally drawn in to the descriptive stories and tones of the novel. The movie starring Oprah Winfrey (Sethe) and Danny Glover (Paul D) has many scenes that I had to look away from, as they are as disturbing and emotionally bothersome as the novel. lot easier and even put them behind them quicker. All in all the video was a better than not interpretation of the novel. I do recommend that anyone who reads the novel watch the movie as well. It makes the viewer accept the time period and the novel a whole lot more. The vivid scenes and the suspenseful plot set the table for a good movie and great follow-up to the conclusion of the novel.
