how many of today's teenagers feel. I had a very good friend in middle school that had jealous feelings toward me. I was involved in many athletic activities and wasn't able to participate. He was more talented academically. I felt his jealousy and empathized with him. Having had a personal experience of this kind, I can easily relate to Gene and Finny's relationship. I know this teenage rivalry exists and is not always expressed appropriately.
